Namibia’s Parliamentary Committee visits EOCO to strengthen Anti-Crime collaboration

A Ten (10)-member delegation from Namibia’s Standing Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly have paid a working visit to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in Ghana.
The visit was aimed to gain insights into EOCO’s operations and explore avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The visit included a meeting with EOCO's Executive Director, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, and her management team.
During the discussions, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah presented an overview of EOCO's mandate, highlighting the organization's role in combating economic and organized crime in Ghana.

She expressed EOCO's readiness to support Namibia by sharing expertise and best practices in various areas.
The Namibian delegation’s visit is part of a broader initiative by their Parliament to integrate effective crime-fighting strategies and enhance their legislative framework.

By understanding EOCO’s operational strategies, Namibia aims to bolster its own mechanisms for tackling economic and organized crime.
The two parties discussed potential areas for partnership, including training programs, joint operations, and information sharing.

This visit marks a significant step towards fostering a collaborative relationship between Ghana and Namibia in the fight against economic and organized crime.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing optimism about the potential for future cooperation and a mutual commitment to combating organized crime and enhancing legal frameworks in their respective countries.
