LOCAL NEWS: POWER FM’s Presenter In Hot-Waters For Allegedly Threatening Akufo-Addo On Radio
A presenter at Power 97.9Fm, an Accra-based radio station, Oheneba Boamah Bennie has found himself in hot water after he threatened sitting President Akufo-Addo on radio.
According to sources, the presenter took to a Facebook, threatening and insulting President Akufo-Addo.
ThinkNews Online has gathered that due to the nature of the threat, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has officially asked the presenter to answer some questions over his live video.
It is emerging that the invitation letter signed by Director General of the COD, COP IK Yeboah. The letter said “The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service presents its compliment to the management of power FM. On 9?12?2020 at 11:41AM , Oheneba Boamah Bennie recorded a live video on his Facebook page in which he was heard insulting and issuing series of threats to the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo"
It is also emerging that the same video was shared on 10|12|2020 at 12:54PM.
“It would be appreciated if you could releases the afore-mentioned person to report to Superintendent /IU at COID headquarters, 4th floor room 13 on Monday 14|12 |2020at 1000hours to assist in investigations. You may contact Superintendent Mr Joseph Edwards on 0246238706 for further information.” the letter added.
