Management and players of Tarkwa-based football club, Medeama SC have presented the betPawa Ghana Premier League Trophy to its Executive Chairman of Tobbin Group, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin.
The presentation ceremony was held at the headquarters of Tobbinco Group of Companies in Accra on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour said "I want to congratulate the captain and players of Medeama SC to this occasion. Today, is a happy day for the good people of Wassa and Tarkwa"
"I am extremely excited that the trophy did not land in the cabinet of any other club than Medeama SC"
"We are grateful to our Executive Chairman of Tobbin Group, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin for his philanthropic works. We are here to present the trophy to him"
It is through his philanthropic works that has seen about 40 youths been employed in his company.
It is emerging that the 40 youths employed by Nana Amo Tobbin are residents of Tarkwa.
The move is to create employment for the youths and also prevent them from engaging in galamsey, a popular job in Tarkwa, a community in the Western Region.
Present at the ceremony are Club President, Moses Parker, Member of Parliament (MP), FOR Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, George Mireku Duker among other dignitaries.
