The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has expressed condolences to the family of a deceased individual and sympathised with residents of Adelekezu in the Western Region following a fatal incident at a mining site.
In a statement issued by the Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Ministry said it had taken note of an official release by the Ghana Police Service on the incident, which is currently under investigation.
The Ministry emphasised its respect for the independence of the ongoing police investigations and appealed to the public, particularly members of the affected community, to remain calm and cooperate fully with security agencies to enable due process to be followed.

Reaffirming its mandate, the Ministry underscored its commitment to lawful mining operations, community safety, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence between mining companies and host communities.
The statement added that any further action or engagement by the Ministry would be guided strictly by the outcome of the official investigations.
