The King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III has invited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to the funeral of his predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, September 19, 2022.
The Asantehene’s wife, Lady Julia has also been invited to the funeral and the pair will be at the late Queen’s lying in state, the King’s Reception, and the Foreign Secretary’s Reception.
In 2000, Asantehene was a guest of Queen Elizabeth II during a three-week visit to the United Kingdom where he visited the British Parliament House, Windsor Castle, and other places.
In 2018, Prince Charles now King Charles III visited the Asantehene when he came to Ghana.
