Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification hopes have been dealt a potential blow, as star forward Inaki Williams faces a likely withdrawal from the upcoming qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Athletic Bilbao confirmed Williams is suffering from a hamstring overload in his left leg, sidelining him for their La Liga game against Real Valladolid.
Williams, named in Coach Otto Addo’s 25-man squad, recently scored in Bilbao’s Europa League victory over Ludogorets but may miss the Black Stars’ high-stakes matches.
Ghana must secure maximum points and hope for Sudan to lose both of their remaining games to progress.
Ghana will play Angola on November 15 in Luanda, followed by Niger on November 18 in Accra.
