The German midfielder, who will leave Barcelona on a free transfer, secured the move after positive discussions, with Pep Guardiola giving the final approval.
This news was confirmed by renowned Sports Journalist, Fabrizio Romano via his Twitter account, where he highlighted that Gündogan’s return to the Etihad marks a significant boost for City as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming seasons.
The deal comes as a surprise move after Gündogan’s recent stint in La Liga, where he joined Barcelona last summer.
