The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the deployment of a special team of seasoned investigators and intelligence officers to the Central Region to reinforce ongoing efforts into the investigation of the death of a student from the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The move forms part of the Ghana Police Service's commitment to ensuring a comprehensive, impartial, and professional inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

According to the Police Service, the specialized team will provide additional investigative expertise, intelligence gathering support, and technical assistance to officers already working on the case in the region.

The deployed personnel are expected to collaborate closely with the Central Regional Police Command to accelerate the fact-finding process and help uncover all relevant details that may assist in determining the cause and circumstances of the student's death.

The Police Administration has assured the bereaved family, the University of Cape Coast community, and the general public that every necessary measure is being taken to ensure justice is served.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to conducting a transparent, diligent, and evidence-based investigation.

The Ghana Police Service further appealed to the public to remain calm and allow investigators to carry out their work while promising to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
