Ghanaian Gospel musician, producer, and Managing Director of Think Media Expert, Raymond Kofi Koomson, known in showbiz circles as Global Ray, has revealed that his passion for music predates his long career in media production.

Speaking in an interview on an Accra-based television station, Global Ray disclosed that although he has always been musically inclined, he kept that side of himself away from the public eye during his years working behind the scenes in television and event production.

“I’ve been in music right for some time, but it’s just that I never showed it when I was working,” he stated.

Global Ray, who has produced and directed several major musical and gospel events, shared that his extensive experience in production allowed him to work closely with both local and international gospel artistes, including Empress Gifty, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, and Israel Houghton, among others.

According to him, his decision to finally step into the spotlight as a gospel musician was driven by divine conviction rather than personal ambition.

“If God calls you to something, the best advice is to be obedient to that call. It’s not about money but about the inner peace and fulfillment that comes with following your divine purpose,” he said.

Global Ray, whose latest single “The Highest” is receiving positive reviews, explained that the song is a message of hope and a reminder of God’s supremacy as the giver of life.

He added that his forthcoming projects include an EP release in January, followed by a full studio album later in the year.

The music producer-turned-gospel artist says his transition marks “one of the happiest moments” of his life, as he now feels fully aligned with his purpose and calling in ministry.
