Blessed Godsbrain Smart, Onua TV/FM’s morning show host, has apologised to former President John Dramani Mahama.
He says many media personnel, including himself, lambasted Mr. Mahama when some newspapers and portals reported of his (Mahama) acquisition of properties in the United Arab Emirates. Captain Smart says his personal tour in Dubai to investigate the said properties acquired by the former president revealed the reports were falsified, but couldn’t admit and apologise then due to shame and how disappointed he was with the said dailies that carried the story.
He has dared anyone with the address of any property belonging to Mahama in Dubai to present it for him to resign.
The former President, according to the ‘Maakye’ host on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 as followed by Ghanasonline.com does not own even a single room apartment in the Middle East.
He made those comments whilst castigating the massive corruption that has engulfed the Akufo-Addo led administration, saying “the thievery going on at the Flagstaff House is unprecedented.”
“The journalists that said Mahama had buildings in Dubai, including myself, where are they? Ghanaians don’t want the truth. The corruption at the Flagstaff House is unprecedented, yet we can’t say it. A lot of lies were said about Mahama” “I’m sorry Mahama, for all the chastisement when some newspapers published that you own apartments in Dubai. I am telling you today, that Mahama has no single room in Dubai. Whoever says he knows his house address in Dubai should bring it and I’ll resign tomorrow.”
“I personally went to Dubai to check and he had nothing there. I’m not an NDC and I’ll never vote for Mahama but I stand for the truth. All the online and newspapers that said Mahama has houses and accounts in Dubai were all lies,” he disclosed.
With the allegations of owning accounts in banks in Dubai, Captain Smart noted he personally visited the said bank John Mahama was accused to be possessing accounts to realise the claims were fabricated.
“He has no single account in Dubai with GH₵1.00. I went there in person to ascertain the facts and when I went to a certain bank to open an account –I don’t want to mention the name. That’s where they said his accounts are [and] –they told me here you can’t open an account just like that,” he averred.
