Hanna Bissiw Eulogises Fallen Heroes; Celebrates Birthday With Bereaved Families/Survivors (VIDEOS)

The National Women’s Organiser of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hanna Louisa Ama Bissiw has joined the bereaved families, head potters (Kayayei), and survivors of electoral violence to celebrate her birthday at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

According to her, the bereaved families of the fallen heroes and survivors have been left to their faith thus the need to mark her special occasion with them.

Speaking at her birthday party, she said “Our heroes and the family members of our fallen heroes from Techiman to Ayawaso West Wuogon electoral brutalities, our people living with disabilities who say disability is not a limitation, our women who toil day and night, I salute you. Today is your day. I will be your chief servant”

She further added that she is disappointed in the Akufo-Addo government for failing to attend to the bereaved families and survivors of electoral violence in the recently held 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The National Women’s Organiser said “Just to say that the government is not doing anything that alone is disappointing. We went into a by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon. We were told, it was just a by-election. We were told not to be afraid. The electorates were asked to go and cast their votes fearlessly. Government-sponsored their thugs to unleash their bullets on innocent civilians who had done nothing but either policing what that which concerns the NDC or casting their votes”

She hinted that a commission was formed and invited the victims to relive the horror that they experienced.

She also noted that a white paper was presented to Government but the decision was bastardized.

“Today, Azugu who led the violence is walking a free man and is still misbehaving"

The National Women's Organiser described the Techiman South election as one which was Militarily guarded.

She lambasted the Akufo-Addo government saying, justice has not been served since it is not found in the books of the NPP party.

"No amount of support will wash away justice. We are a political party and we will support them, emotionally, physically and the likes"

She fumed saying the NDC government would have taken action if it were to be in power.

She described the Akufo-Addo government as a 'walking-violence' adding that it shows no mercy to the wounded.

The National Women's Organiser also celebrated her birthday with persons living with disabilities.
