The Management of Ghana Water Company Limited, Accra West Region says there will be a shut down of the Weija Water Treatment in order to carry out an emergency repairs works.
According to the GWCL, the exercise which is scheduled for Wednesday, December 28 will start from 9am to 5 pm.
The GWCL added that the the emergency repair works will lead to an interruption in water supply.
It is emerging that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has requested for a shut down of the Weija Water Treatment Plant to enable them carry out emergency repair works on the underground cable feeding the Treatment Plant.
The area to be affected include; Kasoa, Nyanyano, Tuba, Amanfrom, Bortianor, Weija, Tetegu, Gbawe, Mallam, Dansoman, Mamprobi and Korle-Bu.
Others areas are Mataheko, Awudome Estates, Kwashiman, Awoshie, Tesano, Abeka, North Kaneshie, Kaneshie, Odorkor, Dakuman, Sowutuom, Santamaria, and adjoining communities.
GWCL says water supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed.
Customers are encouraged to store water ahead of the shutdown.
