Govt Worried Over Increasing Trend Of Terrorism And Piracy In Neighbouring Countries

The Government of Ghana has expressed worries over the growing trend of terrorism and piracy at the neighboring countries and the shores of the coast respectfully.


According to the government, the constant news of terrorist attacks on the neighboring countries that share borders with the country has made the situation worrying and challenging for the entire country to cope with.




The government during the 3 days retreat to access the work of the government in the last 6 months of the year deliberated on ways of reviving the economy and most importantly the issues of terrorism and piracy which how to address the concerns were raised.


Speaking at the Meet the Press series in Accra, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stressed that, the government has ordered the various security agencies to beef up securities at the various borders and coastal lines of the country to help clamp down on any of such actions.




He stressed that the most worrying issues of their intelligence picked indicates that a young Ghanaian has been recruited to join such terrorists but says the government has plans in place to protect all Ghanaians from any attack.


The Minister who is also the MP for Ofoase Ayerebi called on all and sundry to be on alert and report any form of groupings they chance upon to the security for swift intervention.
