Gov't instructs settlement of GHc2.4 billion first coupon payment of DDEP

The Government of Ghana says it has instructed settlement of the GHc2.4 billion first coupon payment of Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP).

The Ministry of Finance took to its social media handle to make the announcement.

In a tweet sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, it tweeted "In line with government’s commitment to the continued success and credibility of Ghana’s domestic debt operations, instructions have gone out for the settlement of the ~GHC 2.4 billion first coupon payment of the DDEP, due today. #ResolvingTogether #GhanaRising"

It also noted that new bonds now stand as the dominant instruments in its domestic bond market, laying the basis for rapid recovery.

Government says it remains committed to the success of the new bonds.
