The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed two new cases of Mpox in the country, raising the total number of infections to 119 as of June 22, 2025.

In its latest update, the GHS indicated that no new deaths have been recorded, with the overall death toll remaining at zero.

Health officials also confirmed that there are currently no patients hospitalised for the disease.

Mpox, previously known as monkeypox, is a viral illness that spreads primarily through close contact with infected individuals.

Although no fatalities have been recorded so far, health authorities have expressed concern over the continued detection of new cases.

The Ghana Health Service has urged the public to strictly observe safety protocols and to seek prompt medical attention if they develop symptoms associated with Mpox.

The GHS has assured citizens that it remains committed to monitoring the situation closely and implementing all necessary measures to curb the spread of the virus.
