The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the tragic deaths of two minors in Kakpayili, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region.

The children, Arafat and Ayaa, were reported missing on June 25, 2024.

Their bodies were discovered five days later, on June 30, in an abandoned vehicle within the community.

Community members initially conducted a search of the house of the alleged neighbors, but these efforts yielded no results, leading to significant agitation among the residents.

The breakthrough came on Sunday when police investigations revealed that the bodies were found in an abandoned car parked behind the suspect’s house.

Alhaji Hafiz Andani, the assembly member for the Kakpagyili electoral area, confirmed the discovery, stating that the police are actively pursuing leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

In an official statement posted on [X], the Police Service explained that they have taken custody of the bodies. The remains have been transported to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue for further examination and autopsy.

The Police Service is urging the public to remain calm and patient as they conduct a thorough investigation into this tragic incident.

They are committed to uncovering the truth and bringing any perpetrators to justice.

The community and the families of Arafat and Ayaa are awaiting the results of the investigation and autopsy, hoping for answers and justice for the loss of the young lives.
