The Government of Ghana says it is making steady progress in its ongoing discussions with all remaining external creditors as part of the country’s debt restructuring programme.
In a press statement released by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Finance, the government reassured its international partners that negotiations are proceeding in line with commitments made under the G20 Common Framework.
“No creditor has been treated preferentially,” the statement noted, emphasizing Ghana’s adherence to the principle of Comparability of Treatment.

"We have strictly applied the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding with our official creditors, and importantly, we have continued to remain in arrears with all external creditors covered under the restructuring perimeter.”
The government reaffirmed its commitment to reaching a fair and mutually beneficial resolution with all creditors and expressed gratitude to its partners for their patience, collaboration, and ongoing support.
Ghana’s debt restructuring programme is a crucial step in the country’s broader economic recovery plan, aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability and ensuring long-term sustainability.
