Gender Minister To Deliver Update On Ghana’s Position On Human Trafficking Ranking On September 2

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison will on Tuesday, September 2 deliver an update on Ghana’s position on Human Trafficking Ranking.


The Minister will further outline measures taken by the Ministry to move Ghana from the tier 2 watch list to its current position.


Tier 2 countries are those whose governments do not fully comply with the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) 2000 minimum standards, but are making significant efforts to bring themselves into compliance with such standards. The Minister is expected to share an insight on an operational manual her Ministry has developed on the operations of the school feeding programme to provide clearer understanding to proprietors.


She will provide also, an update on an adoption manual which has been developed by the central adoption authority to ensure adoption is done in the best interest of the child as well.
