FDA Shuts Down East Legon Marwako Over Food Poisoning Allegation


Thinknewsonline.com can confirm that the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has shut down the East Legon branch of Marwako Fast Food Restaurant.


According to the FDA, the action was taken following some allegations of suspected food poisoning.


In a tweet sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, the FDA tweeted "The FDA has taken notice of complaints from the public about the suspected food poisoning at the East Legon Branch of Marwako Restaurant. We have closed down the restaurant and together with other relevant agencies, started investigations.”


“We have closed down the restaurant and together with other relevant agencies, started investigations, we wish to assure the public that the issue would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions taken", it stated.


The FDA says it will do everything possible to ensure that there are no future occurrences.


It is emerging that over 50 people were affected by the food poisoning.


Sources further adds that the Management of Marwako Fast Food Restaurant have sorted out the medical bills of the over 50 people.
