Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has welcomed Kim Jin Gyun, Consul (Police Attaché) of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, to EOCO's headquarters.
The visit marked a significant step towards fostering a close working relationship between EOCO and the Korean Embassy in Accra, aimed at addressing economic and financial crimes of mutual concern.
In her address, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah expressed gratitude for the visit and highlighted the critical role of international collaboration in the fight against organized crime.
"Collaboration is key in our efforts to combat economic and financial crimes," she stated, reaffirming EOCO's commitment to tackling these issues both domestically and internationally.
The meeting underscored a shared commitment to enhancing security and ensuring the safety of citizens in both countries.
On his part, Kim Jin Gyun, Consul (Police Attaché) of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea commend EOCO for its tremendous efforts at tackling with economic and organized crime in Ghana.
Both parties pledged to work together closely to combat crime, with a focus on strengthening their cooperative efforts.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Bashiru Dapilah, Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations; Aba Jacqueline Opoku, Deputy Director in charge of Intelligence and Monitoring; the Executive Secretary to the Directorate; and the Special Assistant to the Executive Director.
Their attendance emphasized the high-level importance of the discussions and the unified approach of EOCO's leadership in addressing these critical issues.
This visit and the ensuing discussions represent a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation in the fight against economic and organized crime, promising a safer and more secure environment for citizens in both Ghana and the Republic of Korea.
