Veteran Gospel Musician, Yaw Sarpong, and All-Stars have launched a peace song aimed at promoting peace before, during, and after the December polls.
According to him, he was inspired by the violence which occurred in other African countries adding it will remind the Ghanaian populace to see the essence of being united.
In an exclusive interview with Think Tv, he said "I am grateful to all the Artists for coming on board. I called on all of them and they agreed to be part. I have lived in Liberia and I saw war among others so I am grateful to God that Ghana is peaceful. God has blessed Ghana and will continue to bless us"
I will urge the general public and media not just to listen to the song but propagate and spread the good words of the song.
Ghanaian Musician, Fameye in an exclusive interview with Think Tv said "I really feel honored to be part of this peace drive. To be invited by Yaw Sarpong means a lot. I will entreat all to listen to the song and live by it. Peace is what we are looking for"
He challenged young Artists to emulate the great works of Veteran Legend, Yaw Sarpong.
Sensational Gospel Musician, Mama Cynthia of the Daughters of Glorious Jesus fame explained that she was humbled to be called upon to be a part of the peace project.
"I have been following Yaw Sarpong since childhood and I must say Yaw Sarpong is a great person. I am happy to be part and will always support his good course"
CSP Kofi Sarpong on his part noted that the violence that he witnessed while in Sudan was one he will not wish for Ghana adding, coming together with other stars to perform a peace song was a great initiative.
He said "I am appealing to all Ghanaians to leave the election center after voting. I have seen so much in Sudan. I will not encourage anyone to call for that. Do not be used by these politicians. Their GHc5 or GHc2000 cannot take care of you till the end of the year"
"We are one people. We find ourselves here because God destined us to be in Ghana. Let us obey the electoral process and come out victorious" he added.
Sound Producer, Freddie Man also described Veteran Gospel Musician, Yaw Sarpong as a living legend adding that gathering musicians from various angles to perform a peace song was a perfect initiative.
"Ghana has been peaceful since Nkrumah's reign and for Yaw Sarpong to gather all these Musicians is one of the best to have happened. I have observed his creative works for quite a long time now and it was right to come and support him. We have to support peace because we need it" he said.
He appealed to Ghanaians to subscribe to the song and make it big.
Gospel Musician, Bernice Ansah on her part praised Veteran Musician for the great initiative adding that without peace, Ghana will not progress.
She explained that having a peace song in the wake of the election was the right direction for Yaw Sarpong.
Sensational Song Writer and Musician Akwaboah said "To find myself part of this great project means, I am doing well. I was humbled to be invited to be a part of this. We are doing this for Mother Ghana and we call for peace"
Akwaboah challenged fellow Artists to take a cue from Veteran Yaw Sarpong to help spread the message of peace as the country approaches the election.
Musician, Laud Morgan hinted using his local dialect that he will ensure the people from the Dangbe land to exhibit peaceful behaviors before, during, and after the election.
"I am using this medium to appeal to the people of Ga-Dangbe to exhibit good behaviors and welcome the peace song with open arms"
Financer of Gospel Musician, Yaw Sarpong, Nana Kobo in an interview with Think Tv said "I sat and looked at how things were going in the country and then was moved to ask Yaw Sarpong to do a peace song. This peace song is to tell a story of the peace we are looking for before, during, and after the December elections"
"I will always use Abubakar Saddick Boniface as an example. He does not know what opposition is. He believes in love for his opposition, let us learn from that so that we will continue to have peace in Ghana. The youth should do away with violence."
In his submission, a representative from MUSIGA, Daddy Bosco said "I think we need to applaud all the Artists who worked on this project. Today, we choose to sing about our girlfriends and monies we have but I think it is commendable that Musicians will think about social issues like an election that can change the fortunes of a country and appeal for peace. I will encourage everyone here to remember that Ghana is the only country we have"
He further stressed that the freedom in Ghana is second to none adding Ghanaians should vote peacefully and wisely.
Chief Executive Officer of Omy Tv, Joyce Aku Mens challenged the media to be circumspect in their reportage adding that the downfall of the country will depend on the media.
"Let us make sure that we report and project what we see and hear. Our media is the pillar of the country. If anything will happen to Ghana, it will depend on what we project out there" she added.
A representative of the opposition, NDC, Abubakar Saddiq lauded Veteran Yaw Sarpong and assured that Candidate Mahama when elected into office, will ensure the Creative Arts Industry is not abandoned.
