"ENI Makes Significant Oil Discovery Offshore Ghana" - Energy Ministry


The Ministry of Energy says it notes with delight the announcement by the ENI Group of a significant oil discovery in Block 4 Offshore Ghana.


In a communique issued by the Communications and Public Affairs Unit, it said "The well that led to the discovery is located approximately 50 kilometres off the coast and about 8 kilometres north-west of the Sankofa Hub where the John Agyekum Kufuor FPSO is located"




The communique also hinted that the well deliverability potential has been estimated at 5,000 barrels of oil per day, similar to the wells already in production from the Sankofa Field.


It is emerging that ENI has been present in Ghana since 2009 and accounts currently for a gross products of about 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.




The communique also noted over the years, the company has been a valuable partner in the petroleum industry.
