ELECTION 2020: GIJ Student Journalist Who Got Shot During Coverage Undergoes A Successful Surgery


A level 300 student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Pius Kwanim Asiedu has undergone a successful surgery after he was shot in the left leg at recently held December election.


It is emerging that Pius was observing the collation of election as an accredited Journalist by the Electoral Commission.



According to reports the successful surgery was conducted on December 11 at the Ridge hospital.


General Secretary for the Ghana Journalist Association, Kofi Yeboah took to his Facebook page to disclose that the Pius has received a piece of metallic medical equipment in the leg to fill the hole created by the bullet.



His family has expressed gratitude to SIC Insurance, the Greater Accra Regional Hospital and the Ghana Journalist Association for bearing all expenses of his medical care.
