EID-AL-ADHA: Interior Ministry Declares July 31 As Public Holiday

The Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery has declared August 31 as a public holiday.
According to him, the day has been set aside for the Muslim community in Ghana to celebrate their Eid-Al-Adha hence the public holiday.
In a statement signed by him, it said "The general public is hereby reminded that Friday, July 31, 2020 which marks Eid-Al-Adha is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country"
He further advised the public to ensure that they observe the safety protocols associated with the novel coronavirus.
The Minister tasked Muslims to make it a priority to ensure social distancing among themselves at social events at public places.
