The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has issued a strong warning to prospective applicants of health training institutions not to fall victim to fraudsters selling access codes for the 2025–2026 admissions.

Speaking at the official launch of the newly digitized admission portal in Accra on May 5, the Minister emphasized that the previous system of purchasing codes through banks has been completely phased out.

“Please, don’t go and pay any money to anybody who is selling a code to you to have access to the platform. No. That is no more in existence,” Mr. Akandoh cautioned.

According to him, the Ministry has introduced a more user-friendly and transparent process that allows applicants to purchase forms online from the comfort of their homes.

Applicants can now simply make a payment through the portal, receive a code instantly, and proceed with their registration—all without the need for physical travel or third-party involvement.

The Minister also announced a reduction in the cost of admission forms from GHS 200 in 2024 to GHS 150, citing the current economic climate.

To further ease the process, the Ministry has launched a 24-hour call center, effective from May 5 to June 5, to assist applicants facing any challenges. Video tutorials have also been made available to guide users through the application steps.

“What we are seeking to do is to improve upon the processes leading to application and admissions into the health training institutions,” Akandoh stated, stressing that this digital transformation is part of the Ministry’s broader agenda to make health education more accessible and efficient.

He urged institutional heads and staff to support the new initiative, adding that the Ministry will monitor all activities closely to ensure compliance and prevent exploitation.

The portal will remain open until June 5, after which the selection process, interviews, and admissions will proceed at the various institutions.
