DOME MARKET: Traders Relocate To Roadside Over Fumigation Exercise (Pictures + Videos)

Think News Online

Scores of traders at the Dome have relocated to the roadside and railway line to ply their trade over a fumigation exercise at the market.

According to checks by ThinkNewsOnline, the exercise is to clean the markets with chemicals in order to destroy bacteria affecting food stuffs.

However ThinkNewsOnline has gathered that the Dome Market women have refusing to comply with the directives as many were spotted selling on railway line and sides of the streets.

Some market women who spoke to ThinkNewsOnline on anonymity said "We can't stay at home. We have to make money so we take care of our family. Asking us to be at home means no money for us today. The market is dirty and although it is a good initiative to clean, they could have done this yesterday and not today"

The market women added that they will sit by the roadside or railway line and sell till the fumigation exercise is over.

Efforts to get the police to speak proved futile.
