The Coastal Development Authority (CODA) has embarked on an inspection on a number of projects in the Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region as a means of accomplishing its goal of developing every community in all constituencies within the Coastal Development Zone.

Gomoa West, a constituency in the Central Region upon a stakeholders’ engagement and needs assessment with the team from CODA, prioritized a number of needs in the constituency which enabled CODA to formulate projects.

Some of these projects are completed while others are ongoing and nearing completion.

A Community-based health and planning services (CHPS) compound with ancillary facilities at Gomoa Asempanyin has been constructed by the Authority.

The facility is made up of a consulting room, a patient waiting area, recovery room, family planning center, midwifery/delivery room, treatment room, and a storeroom.

A 3-unit classroom block has also been completed and ready for use.

In addition, a 20- seater toilet at Apam Nsawam and a 20-seater toilet at Gomoa Brofo are ongoing projects being constructed by CODA.

Also, a 20-seater toilet each at Gomoa Sampa and Gomoa Tarkwa are also ongoing projects at various levels of completion.

The projects are expected to accelerate social and economic development in the country by tackling each constituency’s needs.

The project is funded by the Government of Ghana through the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).
