Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson has announced that this year's closesd season will commence from July 1st to 31st.
According to Madam Koomson, the closed season will serve as a means to restock the fishing industry.
Speaking to Journalists in Accra, she said "I wish to use this opportunity to announce that this year's closed season will commence from July 1st to 31st"
She also that her outfit will ensure that the usage of approved net.
"Previously, we gave the approve nets to retrieve all unapproved nets"
Madam Koomson disclosed that most fishing boats are now being embossed.
"We will use the laws on law-breakers. 76 trawlers were available on our high season.
The sector Minister hinted that the Jamestown fishing harbour will be cmmissioned after Elmina.
