The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has revealed that all chicken and meat products cleared at Ghana's port have been taken through Internationally accredited protocols and procedures.
According to the FDA, the procedures is to ensure the safety of the products.
In a communique sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, and signed by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Delese Mimi Darko, she said "These processes include evaluation of documents such as the Certificate of Analysis with detailed test results, Veterinary Certificate from the country of origin, and the Veterinary Import Permit from the Veterinary Services Department of Ghana"
The statement also mentioned that the attention of the FDA has been drawn to a news item published on Ghanaweb on November 4 captioned 'AGI RAISE RED FLAG ON IMPORTED CHICKEN INTO GHANA.
It also noted that the publication was to the Agribusiness Sector of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).
