Information reaching ThinkNews Online indicates that Former President of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jeremiah John Rawlings has died at the age of 73.
It is emerging that the Former Head of State passed on at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after he collapsed at his Ridge residence Thursday morning.
According to Dr. K. Abeberese, a staff doctor at the hospital, late former president was rushed to the hospital in an emergency van in a very critical condition.
“We could examine he had difficulty in breathing and had lost all external stimuli, we did our best to control the situation and he was gradually responding to treatment.” Dr Abeberese added.
A team of doctors were said to have conducted a second survey on him after he respired abnormally and unfortunately he passed away just after 45 minutes of the second medical exercise.
Though it’s obvious to provisionally attribute his sudden demise to cardiac arrest, doctors have assured the public they will soon release autopsy report to ascertain the real cause as the body is deposited at the morgue.
