Information reaching ThinkNews Online indicates that the self-acclaimed Global Ambassador for the United Nations (UN), Kwame Fordjour, popularly known by many as Dr. UN has been arrested in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The arrest comes after a bench warrant was issued by the Asokore Mampong Magistrate Court.
The Asokore Magistrate Court is reported to have issued a bench warrant for Fordjour about six months ago after Dr. UN flouted a bail.
It is emerging that Dr. UN organized an awards scheme at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi in 2018.
He was later arrested and arraigned before the Asokore Mampong Court.
Dr. UN was granted bail in the sum of GHC20,000 with his parents signing as his sureties.
However, Fordjour absconded after the bail and after attempts to re-arrest him failed, the court issued a bench warrant for him.
Dr. UN visited Kumasi today and was scheduled to appear on a show at Hello FM for an interview on an awards scheme he is set to organize in the city.
