The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee says it has demoted Obuasi-based football club, AshantiGold SC to Division Two over match manipulation.
According to the GFA, the decision comes after it found the Obuasi giant guilty of match manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League against Inter Allies FC.
The GFA also added that the demotion takes effect from the 2022/23 league season.
It is emerging that officials and players of AshantiGold who participated in the match manipulation have also been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee.
