"Be Proactive In What You Do Rather Than Be Reactive In Order To Help Avoid Fire Outbreaks"- A.Dery


Ghana's Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery has charged the governing board of the Ghana National Fire Service Council to be proactive in what it does rather than be reactive in order to help avoid the numerous fire outbreaks in the country.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of 11 new members unto the governing board, he said "The GNFS ought to be proactive in what it does rather than be reactive in order to help avoid fire outbreaks, adding that “we are all witnesses to the many fires that have occurred all over the country.”


He challenged the new board to make good use of their expertise and skills in order to boost the dealings of the service.


The Interior Minister appealed the board to work their heart out as they take up their new office adding that the needed logistics will be provided to them.


He also reminded them that the President has put in measure of providing the GNFS with more fire engines and equipment as an addition to what it already has.


On his part, Chairman of the Ghana National Fire Service Council, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi thanked the President Akufo-Addo for having trust in him and his board members and granting them the chance to serve.


He appealed to the Interior Minister to lead his support whenever the Ghana National Fire Service Council knocks at its door.
