His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to uphold neutrality and professionalism in the discharge of his duties.

He made the remarks when the IGP paid a courtesy call on him at the Ga Mantse Palace on Thursday.

"Please be neutral in your policing as the new Inspector-General of Police," the Ga Mantse urged, emphasizing the need for fairness and integrity in maintaining law and order across the country.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed amazement at the widespread jubilation that greeted the IGP’s appointment, noting that even police officers across various ranks celebrated the news.

"I was amazed at how many people, including some police officers of all ranks, jubilated following your appointment. It shows the people know who they want," he stated.

The King further commended President John Dramani Mahama for appointing a Ga-Dangme native to the high office, describing the decision as a proud moment for the Ga State.

"I wish to laud President Mahama for appointing a Ga-Dangme as IGP," he said.

The Ga Mantse also used the opportunity to appeal to other police officers and trusted institutions to offer their full support to Mr. Yohuno, stressing that the new IGP's success will depend on their cooperation.

He urged the IGP to support the Taskforce of the Ga Traditional Council in enforcing the ban on drumming and noise-making as part of the Council’s efforts to uphold peace and order during the sacred period.

The King assured the IGP of the Council’s continued collaboration with the Ghana Police Service to ensure law and order, not only within the Ga State but across the country.

On his part, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno expressed gratitude to the King for the warm reception and pledged to work closely with traditional authorities to advance peace and security in the country.

He also humbly requested prayers and spiritual support for himself and his colleagues in uniform.

The visit reinforced the Police Service’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with traditional leadership in pursuit of national stability and security.
