Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has temporarily halted his campaign activities to focus on the final preparations for the party’s 2024 election manifesto.
The manifesto, which is set to be launched on Sunday, August 18, 2024, is expected to outline the NPP’s vision and policies for the next chapter of Ghana’s development.
A statement issued by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, confirmed the brief pause in campaign activities.
"Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, along with the campaign team, will spend the next few days preparing and finalizing the NPP 2024 Manifesto," the statement read.
The team emphasized the importance of this phase, noting that the manifesto will be central to the party’s strategy for securing victory in the upcoming general elections.
The decision to take a short break from the campaign trail comes at a crucial time, as Dr. Bawumia has been actively engaging with voters across the country, presenting his vision for Ghana’s future.
His campaign, which has been marked by a strong focus on economic growth, job creation, and business development, has gained significant momentum in recent weeks.
The statement from the campaign team urged Ghanaians to remain engaged and supportive during this brief interlude.

"The Bawumia Campaign Team calls on all Ghanaians to continue to stay with Dr. Bawumia on this exciting journey of unveiling Bold Solutions for the next chapter of Ghana’s development, which is going to be heavily focused on Jobs and Businesses," it said.
The upcoming manifesto is widely anticipated as a key document that will shape the NPP’s campaign narrative.
It is expected to address pressing national issues and provide detailed plans on how the party intends to build on its achievements, particularly in the areas of job creation, economic stability, and business growth.
Dr. Bawumia, who has been at the forefront of the NPP’s economic management team, is expected to leverage his experience as Vice President to present a manifesto that not only appeals to the electorate but also positions the NPP as the party best suited to lead Ghana through its next phase of development.
Following the launch of the manifesto, Dr. Bawumia will resume his campaign tour, continuing his efforts to connect with voters and rally support ahead of the December 2024 elections.
The campaign team has indicated that the next phase of the tour will be even more dynamic, with a renewed focus on communicating the manifesto’s key messages to Ghanaians in every region.
As the election season heats up, the NPP’s 2024 manifesto will likely play a critical role in shaping the political discourse and influencing voter decisions.
With Dr. Bawumia at the helm, the party is gearing up for what promises to be a highly competitive and closely watched election.
