National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has been officially sworn in as the new Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 25, also saw Professor Ransford Gyampo, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, inaugurated as a member of the newly reconstituted board.
The appointments form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance strategic oversight within the GPHA, with a focus on advancing port infrastructure and improving regulatory governance.

The new board, under Asiedu Nketiah’s leadership, is expected to drive policy formulation, boost operational efficiency, and oversee key infrastructure development projects at Ghana’s major ports.
The Authorities anticipate that the board’s expertise and direction will help position Ghana’s ports as competitive maritime hubs within the sub-region.
