ASHANTIGOLD SC: Kwaku Frimpong's Son Also Banned 8 Years And Fined GHc50,000 For Match Manipulation


News coming in indicates that the son of the President of AshantiGold Sporting Club, Emmanuel Frimpong has also been banned eight (8) years by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for his involvement in match manipulation.


According to the GFA, it is fining Mr. Emmanuel Frimpong GHS50,000.


Sports Journalist, Saddick Adams took to his twitter handle to announce the sad news.


On Monday 16th May, 2022, the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) demoted the Obuasi-based side to Division Two over what it calls match manipulation.


The GFA also added that the demotion takes effect from the 2022/23 league season.

It is emerging that officials and players of AshantiGold who participated in the match manipulation have also been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee.


The GFA has explained that both father and son will have nothing to do with sports as they serve their 10 and 8 months ban respectively.
