Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery (MP) has declared Saturday, April 22 as a statutory holiday.
According to the Minister, the statutory holiday falls in line with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr by the Muslim community.
The Minister added that Monday, April 24 has also been declaredas an additional statutory holiday.
In a statement sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, he said "However, in view of the fact that 22nd April, 2023falls on a Saturday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by the Executive Instrument (E.I) in accordance to Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601) declared Monday, 24th April 2023as an additional public holiday"
The Minister further entreated the public to treat the two days as such and observed throughout the country.
