American Boy Charged For Allegedly Killing Ghanaian Man

A 17-years-old American boy, Torian Wilson, has been charged with the murder of a 45-years-old Ghanaian Lyft driver, Elijah Newman.

The late Newman was allegedly shot dead around 11:00 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2021, while on duty in the United States.

A charge sheet filed by US prosecutors on Saturday, April 17, 2021, showed that Torian Wilson admitted to being at the scene where Newman was fatally shot.

Police accordingly arrested the teenager with a gun that allegedly matched a bullet casing found next to Newman’s body.

African Entertainment gathered that US detectives found Wilson by tracing his cell phone, after linking his email address to a series of recently reported carjacking of ride-hailing companies in the area.

According to police, the detectives used a search warrant to trace Wilson’s cell phone and located him within the 1,700-meter radius where Newman had been shot.

Newman is a father of five. His family resides in Tema, Ghana.

Elizabeth Hylton of St. Peter, believed to be a longtime friend of Newman, stated that the deceased had always spoken about providing a better future for his kids.
