The Director-General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye revealed that 3 out 7 persons have been reported dead after contracting Ebola in Guinea.
According to him, the EVD is a severe, often fatal illness in human-caused by the Ebola virus.
In a communique sighted by ThinkNews Online, it said "This is to inform all stakeholders in the health sector of the confirmation of seven (7) cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Guinea on 14th February 2021. Three of the cases have died from the disease"
The communique further explained that the virus is transmitted to people from wild animals and spreads in the human population through human-to-human transmission.
It also cautioned all regions, districts, and health facilities are to initiate preparedness and response plans for EVD.
Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, however, reminds the general public that under no circumstance should public or private transport be used in transporting suspected EVD cases.
