"My Dream Was To Become A Doctor" - Adelaide The Seer

Ghanaian Musician, Adelaide Bortier known in showbiz as ‘Adelaide the Seer’ has revealed that although she is currently a singer, her dream was to become a doctor.

Speaking on an Accra-based television station, she said "My dream was to be a doctor when I was in school. I used to sing at school but it was just for fun. But with what I went through, I developed the passion and love for music"

The young musician also revealed that she lost her sight on October 16, 2012, after suffering Cerebro Spinal Meningitis.

She said "I lost my sight on 16th October 2012 after suffering from Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) It affected my brain nerves and that was affected my eyes. I was by then in GHANATA as a final year student. I spent only two days in school. I lost sight after I recovered from a coma. I was preparing myself for opportunities in the music industry"

Adelaide The Seer also revealed that it took her a while before she came to terms with the fact that she had lost her sight.

"My whole body was also paralyzed. I went through physiotherapy and that is what helped me" she added.

Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) is an inflammation of the membranes of both the brain and spinal cord.

CSM is a chronic medical condition, the inflammation of the brain and the spinal cord often results in a very serious infection and becomes an often fatal variety of meningitis caused by the meningococcus bacteria.

Adelaide The Seer is gradually making a name for herself in the music industry.
