"Living Bitters Capsules Has Not Been Adulterated; It Is Safe For Consumption" - FDA Confirms

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has confirmed that the general public can patronize and use the Living Bitters Capsules, a product manufactured by Capital 02 Limited in Ghana.

According to the FDA, after series of laboratory investigations, the capsules turned out to be authentic.

In a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Delese Mimi Darko, it said "Results from the laboratory established that each capsule contains varied compositions of Aloe capensis, Hydrastis canadensis among others as per the label. Further different analysis ruled out the presence of coal tar or other harmful products"

The call comes after a video went viral on social media indicating that the Living Bitters Capsules had been adulterated with some non-edible and potentially harmful substance.

She added that per the analysis, the product completely dissolves in the media that mimics digestive fluids.

"The FDA therefore wants to assure the public that, the product is safe for consumption and has not been adulterated" she noted.

The Authority, however, advised its consumers to always look out for proper product labelling which must include the product batch numbers, manufacturing and expiry dates.

Mrs. Darko also assured the general public that the FDA will always uphold the health and safety of Ghanaians as mandated by the Public Health Act, 2012, Act 851.
